Marathon stopped because of heat

The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon was stopped prematurely Sunday because of the dangers posed to runners in the hot weather. As of 11:45 a.m., police are stopping runners still participating in the race and directing them to Grant Park, according to News Affairs.
Though many runners have finished the race already, with the heat continuing to pose a threat to runners, the race was stopped.
