Assistant Director of Laboratory Operations and Administration
Forest Research Institute

Gaurav Walia has spent numerous years in Pharmaceutical Research and Development. Currently, Mr. Walia is the Assistant Director of Laboratory Operations and Administration in Pharmaceutical Research and Development at Forest Research Institute (a subsidiary of Forest Laboratories, Inc.) and leads the Metrology Department.

Mr. Walia has implemented many unique, trend setting technologies in the past and in his current role (Ion Mobility Spectroscopy, Fiber Optic Dissolution, etc.). Additionally, Mr. Walia has developed/implemented numerous systems and processes from Laboratory Automation to Standardized R&D Training Programs to IQ/OQ/PQ Protocols. Overall, Mr. Walia continues to assess R&D processes in determining/implementing ideas, programs and technology, which will accelerate the R&D process in a compliant mannerism.

Mr. Walia’s roots stem from degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.S. – Biology/Chemistry) and University of Illinois (M.S. – Biology/Chemistry) as well as careers in Analytical Chemistry at Monsanto and as a part of the Rapid Response Lab with Pfizer/Oread.
